Who is John S. Tanner?
John S. Tanner is the 10th president of Brigham Young University-Hawaii. President Tanner has held various academic and leadership positions, including Academic Vice President, Associate Academic Vice President, and English Department Chair.
President Tanner has also served in significant ecclesiastical roles within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
President Tanner’s educational journey began at BYU, earning a bachelor of arts degree in English in 1974, followed by a doctorate in English from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1980.
He has a career as a Fulbright professor in Brazil and is a renowned author of several books.
Who is Susan W. Tanner?
Susan W. Tanner is the twelfth Church’s Young Women organization president. Sister Tanner began her educational journey at Brigham Young University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in humanities.
She met her husband, John S. Tanner, at BYU, and together, they have made significant contributions to the Church and academia.
