About Balloon Fest in Provo Utah
This year marks a milestone as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Provo’s beloved Balloon Fest. Join over 25,000 spectators for a magical experience with approximately 25 majestic hot air balloons. The event takes place on July 4, 5, and 6, from 6:00 am to 8:00 am each morning, excluding Sunday.

Witness the wonder as these colorful giants inflate and take to the skies. Families and children are invited to walk around the balloons during inflation, offering a unique up-close experience. To catch the full spectacle, be sure to arrive at 6:00 am to see the balloons as they start to rise.
An exciting feature of the festival is the Hare and the Hound competition. Watch as “hound” balloons chase a “hare” balloon, dropping bean bags onto a target for points, showcasing the skill and precision of the pilots. This competition attracts top pilots from around the nation, making it a thrilling and competitive event.
Don’t miss the Balloon Glow on Friday night from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm at Fox Field. It’s a mesmerizing display of balloons lit up against the night sky, creating a beautiful and enchanting scene.
The Balloon Fest wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of its committee, many of whom have been involved since its inception 40 years ago. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to these long-term volunteers for their commitment and hard work.
