Venue:
The concert features two renowned BYU alumni carillonneurs, Ariel Peterson Hubbard and Russell Sorenson. They return to their alma mater to deliver a mesmerizing performance. Ariel and Russell, both accomplished musicians who earned full membership in the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America, will enchant the audience with a diverse repertoire. Expect to hear an array of patriotic pieces, folk music, Broadway tunes, classical compositions, and original works.
This event is among the more relaxed and casual activities of the Festival. It’s a perfect opportunity to unwind and enjoy a serene summer evening. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics to the shaded lawns around the tower for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
The concert is not just an auditory delight; it’s also a visual one. The performer is visible on a large monitor, allowing the audience an up-close look at the art of carillon playing. After the performance, visitors can enjoy a short demonstration of the practice keyboard, offering a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into this fascinating musical world.
