This story is inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s fantasy “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King,” where a young girl receives a Nutcracker as a Christmas gift. She experiences an extraordinary adventure on a magical Christmas Eve as the Nutcracker comes to life.
They embark on a journey through the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy, taking on the malevolent Mouse Kind in an epic battle.
Central Utah Ballet, directed by Jennie Creer-King, is the newest addition to Utah County’s ballet scene. Jennie brings a wealth of experience with her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in ballet performance, teaching pedagogy, and choreography.
Jennie directed the BYU Theater Ballet and contributed 11 new world premieres.
She went on to own and manage the Classical Ballet Academy in Provo, nurturing young talents and inspiring aspiring artists. At the same time, she served as the Artistic Director of Provo Civic Ballet and earned numerous accolades.
Chrysalis Ballet Company is a non-profit 501(c)(3) professional, project-based ballet company. Chrysalis offers rigorous and innovative dance training methods and creative professional performance opportunities.
They explore various multimedia platforms, including live music, film, and performances.
