The art exhibition, “Everyday People: The Art of James E. Ransome,” will take place at the Provo Library at Academy Square, at 550 North University Avenue, Provo, UT 84601.
The National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, based in Abilene, Texas, presents “Everyday People: The Art of James E. Ransome. This exhibition runs from January 8 to February 22, 2024!
James E. Ransome, who won the Coretta Scott King Award, is the artist behind over sixty children’s books. Through his vivid oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, Ransome tells stories about unknown characters and historical figures.
The Children’s Book Council recognizes Ransome as one of seventy-five authors and illustrators. As a member of the Society of Illustrators, he has earned accolades, including the Coretta Scott King Award for Illustration and the IBBY Honor Award for his work, “The Creation.”
The exhibition will be at the Nelson Attic in the Provo Library at Academy Square. You can check it out from Monday to Friday between 3:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
