Brigham Young University (BYU) is hosting a “Spain and the Hispanic World” Gallery Talk by MOA Director Janalee Emmer on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 12:10 p.m. to 12:40 p.m.
The gallery talk with MOA Director Janalee Emmer will happen at Brigham Young University Museum of Art, at Campus Dr, Provo, UT 84604.
The BYU Museum of Art (MOA) in Provo, Utah, hosts the ‘Spain and Hispanic World’ Gallery Talk, featuring MOA Director Janalee Emmer.
Dr. Janalee Emmer earned her doctorate at Pennsylvania State University, adding to her master’s and bachelor’s degrees at Brigham Young University.
Dr. Emmer has taught at universities and worked at different art museums, including the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State, and the Springville Museum of Art.
She is an expert in Modern and Contemporary art, including French, American, and Asian art.
In April 2021, she became the Director of the Museum of Art, taking over from Mark Magleby.
During the ‘Spain and the Hispanic World’ Gallery Talk, you’ll see prehistoric Iberian earthenware, Roman-era sculpture, beautifully illustrated manuscripts from medieval times, religious artifacts, maps from the Age of Exploration, Latin American jewelry, and masterpieces created by famous Spanish artists.
More than 150 art pieces, relics, and ancient items will be displayed.
This event is free and open to all! You’ll have the opportunity to talk with Dr. Janalee Emmer and others attending. You can share your thoughts and appreciation for the diverse art that has shaped Spain and the Hispanic world.
