About Sundance Summer Theatre: “Newsies”

Presented by: Sundance Resort and Utah Valley University School of the Arts at Sundance Resort, Provo UT

Join us for the 2024 Sundance Summer Theatre production of Disney’s “Newsies,” based on the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City. This inspiring musical tells the story of newsboys and newsgirls standing up against powerful publishers to demand fair treatment. Follow the charismatic Jack Kelly as he rallies the Newsies in their fight against greedy newspaper publishers. The show is filled with energetic and catchy songs, exploring themes of solidarity, friendship, the power of the press, and the underdog’s fight for justice.

The Sundance Summer Theatre, in partnership with UVU, has been a beloved tradition for 17 years. Set beneath the stars and nestled in the mountains, the amphitheater offers a magical experience.
