Join us for our Virtual Perspectives Speaker Series as we delve into the history and significance of Pioneer Day, an annual Utah holiday celebrated on July 24th since 1849. Mark Melville, assistant editor of Utah Historical Quarterly, and Steven Olsen, Master Curator at the Church History Department, will explore how Pioneer Day has been observed over the years.
About the Speakers:
- Mark Melville: Assistant editor of Utah Historical Quarterly, specializing in Mormon and Utah history.
- Steven Olsen: Master Curator at the Church History Department, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with extensive experience in museum studies and Latter-day Saint studies.
