K’s Kitchen is named after Kazuyo Stevenson, who was born and raised in Hokkaido Japan, and only moved to Orem, UT, in March of 2018. She has fed a large family for many, many years, and after visiting Utah over the years, she felt there was a need for authentic Japanese cuisine in Utah county.

She has made it her goal in life now to bring authentic, delicious Japanese food, focused on Domburi, which are traditional rice bowl dishes, to Utah county, and found an ideal location in Downtown Provo, right across the street from the Provo City offices.

As you will learn, K’s Kitchen is an at home environment, run by many members of her family, where not only is the food truly authentic, hand made by Kazuyo herself, but she has also placed an emphasis on “Omotenashi”, which is the Japanese term used at the 2020 Japanese Olympic bid, to explain the Japanese version of “hospitality”.

Later, northern nomads who settled in China enhanced the pot with beef and mutton, and southerners did the same with seafood. In the Qing dynasty, the hot pot became popular throughout the whole area of China. Hot Pot used to be favored only in winter, but recently Hot Pot also appears on tables in other seasons. Some people especially like eating it in summer, sitting in front of a fire with an air-conditioner working behind and saying it couldn't have been better!

History:

Five Sushi Brothers began in MAY 2016 with two troubled brothers who had experienced the horrors of the late night munchies night after night. One day, ammon Chung the older of the two brothers, came up with the revolutionary idea of starting a late night sushi delivery service in provo in hopes to help people in a similar situation. Once he presented the idea to his lil bro, JacobChung they knew from that moment that starting the business wasn’t a matter of “if”, but “when”. What started out as a small business renting out a local mexican restaurant’s kitchen at night while they were closed, has evolved drastically to one of the fastest growing restaurants in Utahvalley. Now, they are also in orem to spread the love! People of all ages can come hang out, eat some sushi, play some smash, and have a good time!

Koi Ramen in Provo Utah is a restaurant my family loves. Their ramen dishes are fantastic.

My son swears by their Tonkotsu Ramen. He couldn’t get enough of that rich pork bone broth and house-made char siu pork. I tried the Shio Ramen, which had fresh Himalayan sea salt, tender char siu pork, and dried kombu. It was delicious too!

We also tried their Boba Tea and Ramune Marble Drink. Their reasonable prices make you get great food without spending too much.

I liked how small and charming the restaurant was. I love Asian food, so I was excited to see what they had on their menu.

I tried their famous Tonkotsu Ramen, which had a tender pork belly, fresh green onions, seaweed, bamboo shoots, and a tasty broth. It was so good!

Their drinks are also great! I tried the Heavenly Mango drink, which had real mango and cheese foam on top. It was a perfect match with my ramen. My granddaughter also loved the drink and thought it was delicious.

I was impressed by how much you get for the price. Shhh Up Cafe is a great place to enjoy authentic food without spending too much.

Don’t forget to try their amazing Popcorn Chicken!

About the author of Move to Provo Utah Website

Katerina Gasset

When I moved here I was blessed to have my daughter to help with different things you need to know when you move to a new place. I had background from living here before but things have changed a lot too since the '80s.

We were able to get all the good places to eat down fast - since she knows all that and we have a lot of the same likes in food. But things like how to turn on my electricity or what power company services my home... well... I was at a total loss!

I know that other people moving to Provo don't always have family here to guide and help them. And most people don't have a real estate agent who gives them a welcome package on all the important numbers and places they need to know.

My goal is for this website to be your go to resource for everything you need to know before, during, and after you move here to Provo, Utah. I want you to have the best experience and love living here as much as I do
