One of my favorite places to go and soak in the serenity and beauty is the Bridal Veil Falls in the Provo Canyon in Provo, Utah.

I also love that Bridal Veil Falls is only a few minutes' drive from my home in Indian Hills, Provo, Utah!

Waterfalls are an amazing sight to see and experience.

It is a super popular place to go for locals and tourists. People come from all over the world to see Bridal Veil Falls.

The springtime is gorgeous with the trees blossoming, the summer with the vibrant variety hues of green, to the fall with these amazing reds, browns, and oranges, and then the winter when the falls ice over and become a part of the gorgeous landscape draped in white.

What is the Story Behind the Bridal Veil Falls in Provo, Utah?

Bridal Veil Falls was the talk of the town in the ‘90s. It was THE destination!  People came from everywhere to ride the world’s steepest tram and witness the breathtaking 607-foot waterfalls.

But an avalanche in 1996 swept away the tram and everything around it. Then, in 2008, they had to cut the historic tram cables for safety.

The Legend of Bridal Veil Falls

There’s an awesome tale about the Bridal Veil Falls in Provo, Utah. It’s about Norita, a spirited Native girl, and Grey Eagle, a fearless warrior from another tribe. They were in love and planning a daring escape. Their meeting place? A mountain stream.

One night, Norita saw enemies from her tribe instead of Grey Eagle. Fearing the worst, she took a leap from the cliffs.

Nature was so moved by Norita’s beauty that it wove her hair into a waterfall, carved a place on the mountain, and spread lush greenery wherever Norita’s spirit drifted.

Grey Eagle felt so sad. Nature turned him into the mountain to watch over Norita forever.

This tale is why the falls got their name, Bridal Veil Falls. It’s a tribute to the eternal love of Norita and Grey Eagle. The Bridal Veil Falls is not just a place of natural wonder–it’s a living legend that’s a part of Provo’s history.

About the author of Move to Provo Utah Website

Katerina Gasset

When I moved here I was blessed to have my daughter to help with different things you need to know when you move to a new place. I had background from living here before but things have changed a lot too since the '80s.

We were able to get all the good places to eat down fast - since she knows all that and we have a lot of the same likes in food. But things like how to turn on my electricity or what power company services my home... well... I was at a total loss!

I know that other people moving to Provo don't always have family here to guide and help them. And most people don't have a real estate agent who gives them a welcome package on all the important numbers and places they need to know.

My goal is for this website to be your go to resource for everything you need to know before, during, and after you move here to Provo, Utah. I want you to have the best experience and love living here as much as I do
