Asa Ramen is a Japanese noodle house that recently opened its doors in Provo/Orem. With their authentic tastes, they offer several kinds of delicious ramen at reasonable prices. The best part is you can call your order ahead of time and pick it up on the way home.
Where is Asa Ramen located?
This hidden gem is located at 1120 State St, Orem, UT 84097, USA. While the restaurant is technically on State Street near University Mall in Orem, it borders Provo.
I was driving down State Street in Provo the other day and I drove right by Asa Ramen. It’s a little restaurant that’s easy to miss if you’re not paying attention, and I almost missed it myself! But after driving past it, I decided to turn around and check it out.
Asa Ramen Hours
The current hours they are open are:
Monday - 11 am-3 pm, 5-10 pm
Tuesday - 11 am-3 pm, 5-10 pm
Wednesday - 11 am-3 pm, 5-10 pm
Thursday - 11 am-3 pm, 5-10 pm
Friday - 11 am-3 pm, 5-11 pm
Saturday - 12-11 pm
Sunday - Closed
Asa Ramen is closed on Sundays. In many places I have lived, only Chic-Fil-A and Hobby Lobby are closed on Sundays.
I love that here in Provo and Orem, many places are closed on Sundays. It’s one of the reasons I moved here. I love spending the rest of the day with my family after we go to church. We can go to the park, or stay home and relax. It’s a great way to spend the day.
I also love that there are so many members of my church here, where being closed on Sundays is the norm.
Asa Ramen Ambiance
The inside of Asa Ramen is cozy and small. It has a contemporary vibe with clean lines, wooden accents, and large windows that let in plenty of natural light.
You can also see the cooks making your food, so you can get an idea of the freshness of everything that comes from their kitchen!
There are only about six tables in the entire restaurant, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for a quiet dinner date or a casual meal with friends.
If you love ramen, then bring your friends and family to Asa Ramen. It’s a delicious place filled with friendly staff who make your experience memorable. Don’t wait any longer!
Asa Ramen Bowls Menu and Prices
The menu is simple but delicious: choose from a variety of ramen bowls, or get a custom bowl made just for you. The broth is flavorful, and the toppings are fresh and delicious.
The Asa Ramen specializes in:
- Tonkotsu (pork bone broth)
- Miso
- Chashu
- Tonkotsu/Shoyu-Blend
- Shoyu
- Karai
When I first visited Asa Ramen with my family, we got the Spicy Miso Ramen bowl, which was amazing.
The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the broth was excellent! The spicy miso added just the right amount of heat to the dish.
Since then, I’ve been back several times and have not been disappointed. Now, I have tried all of their broths, and they are all good. It is super hard to make a choice!
Something about the broth at Asa Ramen makes my taste buds sing. It could be the delicate mix of spices or how the noodles are cooked to perfection. Either way, I always leave this restaurant feeling satisfied.
At the Asa Ramen restaurant, they have a variety of extras that you can add to your ramen:
- Chasu
- Egg
- Mushroom
- Bamboo Shoots
- Green Onions
- Garlic
- Seaweed sheet
- Corn
You can also choose the combo!
But you don’t need to pay extra for these unless you want more of one item. Most of the ramen choices they offer contain the same items, so you can customize them however you want.
They also have a variety of toppings that you can choose from, including different types of meat, vegetables, and sauces. So whatever your taste buds are craving, they’ve got you covered!
They have a lunch special. The lunch special is a good price, but it’s only worth ordering if you want a soft drink. I don’t normally order drinks when I’m eating out. I only have water at restaurants unless I go to a juice shop like Roxberry’s.
At Asa Ramen, the appetizers are to die for! I can never get away with only ordering Ramen. Even when I say I will not order too much, I always get a few of their delicious appetizers. My favorites are the takoyaki balls and chicken karaage. They’re all so good!
Other options include:
- Edamame: These soybeans are boiled and lightly salted. They’re a great way to start your meal and get your taste buds going!
- Gyoza: These pork dumplings are pan-fried and served with a delicious dipping sauce.
- Shrimp tempura: This is a classic Japanese dish that’s made with shrimp that’s been battered and fried. It’s definitely one of the most popular items on the menu!
Our family also loves the Chashu Bun. It’s the high end of the appetizers, but it’s worth every penny! The tender pork is so delicious and flavorful. The children always fight over who gets to eat the last one! That’s why, sometimes, we order extra for them to share.
Their seaweed salad is worth trying too. You know, Costco sells a fresh cold bag of Seaweed Salad. I always have a bag on hand because it’s the perfect treat or side dish. I’m so glad that they sell it at many of their locations.
How to Order at Asa Ramen in Provo
Asa Ramen is one of my favorite spots for a quick bite. The restaurant is small, so we like to go during off hours. Reservations are recommended if you want to go there during peak dining hours.
Plus, they have a take-out, which is always a hit with busy people like me. I love supporting small businesses, so I avoid using DoorDash or UberEats for small mom-and-pop-style restaurants. Those apps take a big chunk of money from the restaurant. The profit margins are already slim in the food industry, so I want to do what I can to help these restaurants keep as much as they can.
Prices
I was happy that the prices are so reasonable especially compared to other Ramen shops.
The current prices are as follows:
Ramen: $10.45
Half: $6.75
16 oz Broth: $4.50
8 oz Broth: $3.50
Side rice: $2.00
Extra noodles: $2.00
Lunch Special: Any ramen + $4.50
Add-ons:
- Chasu: $2.25
- Egg: $1.00
- Mushroom: $1.00
- Bamboo Shoots: $2.00
- Green Onion: $0.50
- Seaweed sheet (Nori): $1.00
- Corn: $1.50
- Combo: $3.25
I’ve since become a regular at Asa Ramen, and I’m never disappointed with the quality of the food. I have spent money on Ramen in many cities and have never been as pleased with the quality as I am at Asa Ramen.
Whether I’m in the mood for a classic ramen dish or something a little more inventive, Asa Ramen always delivers. And at these prices? You can’t go wrong!
Please note this is not a guarantee of prices. I may not get back to my post here fast enough to update prices. But each time I eat at Asa Ramen I will check the prices and edit them here on this blog. Just don’t get mad if they are different as I don’t own the restaurant 🙂
Parking at Asa Ramen:
There is parking on the street in front of the restaurant right on State Street. That is one of the things I love about Provo and Orem. You are allowed to park on the streets without annoying parking meters and reserved parking.
There is also a little lot behind the restaurant where you can park. I always miss that turn so I park on State Street.

I’m a bit of a Ramen aficionado, and I’ve tried almost every style of Ramen out there. But I noticed something different about Asa Ramen. After eating a bowl of their delicious ramen noodles, I wasn’t dying of thirst, as I have been after eating at other Ramen restaurants. My mouth felt hydrated!
